Longform improv is where everything you’ve learned starts to breathe.

Instead of short scenes or structured games, we begin to explore what happens when scenes are allowed to grow, connect, and evolve. One idea can spark a whole world. A single moment can ripple through multiple scenes. And suddenly, you’re not just improvising—you’re building something together.

Where Toolbox 1 focuses on learning and applying the core tools, Toolbox 2 could go further into shaping complete longform pieces.

There, you might dive deeper into finding and heightening the game, building stronger thematic connections, and exploring more defined formats. You can work on pacing, rhythm, and emotional range—and on making bold, clear choices as a group.

Because longform isn’t just about knowing the tools.It’s about using them to create something that feels alive, cohesive, and surprising—every time you step on stage.

Who is this course for?

Advanced improvisers. This course is intended for almost advanced improvisers, who want to see if longform is something for them, or who want to gain more insights in narrative choices. You should have done at least four improv courses and shows or similar experience.

Location Buurthuis De Jager zaal 6, Teun de Jagerstraat 1 Utrecht. Free parking and close to Utrecht Overvecht station. Tuesdays 15 Sep - 9 Dec 18:45-20:30h. Teacher Emma Holmes. Show date probably Saturday 12 December, Villa Concordia. No lesson on 20 Oct, holiday.
